Shock as Rukungiri Woman killed in cold blood

RUKUNGIRI-Police in Rukungiri are investigating circumstances under which a 56 years old woman killed in cold blood.

The deceased has been identified as Ainemanzi Aidah Bwentaro a resident of Rugoongo cell, in Kitojo parish, Buyanja Sub County in Rukungiri district and her body was found lying near banana plantation today morning at around 7:00am next to her home.

According to the area residents, Aidah was last seen yesterday evening at around 7pm after leaving her retail shop that is in the same area going back home but were shocked today morning finding her dead in pool of blood, tied with rope and deep cuts on the neck.

It’s alleged that the deceased had family wrangles with step children since the husband died three years ago suspecting that this might be the root cause of her death.

Speaking with our reporter, Mark Tibamirwa the area chairperson lc1 narrated that he has been handling issues from the deceased’s family related to land and other properties but later were out of his control forwarded to sub county and district levels suspecting that Aidah’s death might be related to this.

Judith Kabatoro, Kobusingye Keledonia and Lawrence Tibasiimwa some of the residents described the deceased as the very humble woman and cooperative resident in their area calling the responsible government organs to do the needful such that criminalists can be brought to courts of laws.

Detectives from Rukungiri central police station led by OC CID ASP. Nasuuna Harriet visited the crime scene and the body was conveyed to Rwakabengo Health Centre III for postmortem as inquiries commences.

Speaking with the residents, Nasuuna called upon the residents to help the police in carrying out investigation by providing information related to the death of Aidah.

She added by requesting them to avoid mob in case they suspect on someone but rather report to the police.
