NEWS– The President of the Republic of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed the new Executive Director of the Kampala Capital City Authority.
Reports indicate that President Museveni has appointed Hajat Sharifah Buzeki as the new KCCA Executive Director.
The development also confirms the appointment of Mr. Benon Kigenyi as the Deputy Executive Director of the Kampala Capital City Authority.
The news of Buzeki and Kigenyi appointments has been confirmed by Faruk Kirunda, the presidential Deputy spokespersn.
Kirunda took to his official X handle formerly twitter to announce the big news stressing that their nemes have already been submitted to the Public service for formalization.
According to Kirunda, the Head of public service or secretary to the cabinet will formally confirm the appointments upon process completion.
“It’s true that His Excellency @KagutaMuseveni has appointed a new Executive Director of @KCCAUG in the names of Hajat Sharifah Buzeki, and Mr. Benon Kigenyi as her Deputy. Their names have been forwarded to Public Service for formalisation. When the process is completed, the Head Public Service/Secretary to Cabinet will formally confirm the appointments. Congratulations to Hajat Buzeki and Mr. Kigenyi for catching the eye of the Appointing Authority”, Kirunda tweeted.
The two positions fell vacant in October 2024 after President Museveni sacked three officials who held these offices.
They included the former executive director Dorothy Kisaka, ex-deputy director David Luyimbazi and ex-director health services Dr Daniel Okello.
