Support the government for quality education of your children- Rukungiri parents urged

RUKUNGIRI- Residents of Bikurungu Sub County were called upon to shun differences of politics and religions within their communities to embrace development.

The remarks were made by Minister Jim Muhwezi’s political assistant Isaac Kaharuza during the ceremony of groundbreaking and renovation of Nyamihuku and Kakoni primary school respectively in Bikurungu Town Council and Bwambara Sub County.

Kaharuza said once development is realized, it benefits the entire communities despite of their religious or political affiliations hence calling on the parents to own the school and desist from earthly things.

Kaharuza delivered 100 bags of cement from Minister Muhwezi’s office to support the rehabilitation and enhancement of educational facilities in both Schools.

Kagisha Kellen, the Rukungiri District Assistant Resident Commissioner asked parents to embrace government programs such parish development model and support their children to obtain quality education.

Kagisha also asked leaders and parents to create a better learning environment for the children thanking the government for the great support which will relieve them from the burdens they have faced for long.

Hajji Masokoyi Waswa Swalik the Rukungiri District Chief Administrative Officer pointed out that they have done their part as leaders and urged the school administration to use the contribution for its intended use to enable them to get more in future.

Masokoyi highlighted the significant effort required to secure funding for the schools expressing gratitude to the government’s decision to allocate funds for school’s renovation, urging them to intensify efforts to improve academic performance.

The Rukungiri District boss Geoffrey Kyomukama praised the collaboration between the administration, staff and community and emphasized the importance of teamwork among staff to enhance the school’s performance.

James Turyamuboona the Rukungiri district speaker urged parents to support their children’s education as they wait for the government.

Turyamubona was quick to point out that their role is to have school structures enhanced and renovated expressing concern of less financing urging parents to complement Government efforts.

Musiiment Kerodonia the Rukungiri District secretary for Education and social services pledged to continue lobbying for additional government support, such as recruiting qualified teachers and addressing infrastructural needs as well as water supply and electricity.

The engineer from Ruhinda technical services expressed confidence in completing the renovation within the agreed timeline.
