NEWS– Four more bodies have been recovered as the death toll from Bulambuli District mudslides rises.
The bodies have been discovered by the locals who are using hand hoes and other elementary tools to search for more than 100 other residents reported missing following the Wednesday mudslides triggered by a 10-hour downpour.
The discovery of the four bodies rises the tally in the Bulamburi district mudslides death to 20 following the previous discovered 15.
The previous police report indicated that a total of 15 bodies had been retrieved, while 15 injured people were rescued and admitted to Buluganya Health Center three.
Unfortunately, 113 people were reportedly still missing as efforts to locate them are still underway.
The mudslides have affected five villages of Masugu, Namachele, Natola, Namagugu, and Tagalu all in Buluganya Sub County.
The locals, Police, Uganda Red Cross Society and other emergency responders are working tirelessly to provide aid and support to those affected.
