NEWS– Members of the Forum for Democratic Change FDC Katonga faction have success delivered their party applications to the Electoral Commission for verification.
The team of FDC Katonga members and promoters of the newly created People’s Front for Freedom led by Hon. Wafura Oguttu on Friday 29th November 2024 submitted their application to EC at the commission head office in Kampala.
The submitted documents which included the collected signatures and applications were officially handed over to the Political Parties and Organisations Desk at the Electoral Commission.
This marks a key step in their quest for registration as a fully-fledged political party as People’s Front for Freedom following their from their FDC counterparts in Najjanankumbi accusing them of getting “evil money” allegedly from the ruling NRM.
The Electoral Commission confirmed receiving the People’s Front for Freedom’s supporting members’ details for verification.
The EC noted that in line with its mandate under Article 61 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda 1995, the Commission will now verify these members against the National Voters Register in their respective districts of registration.
And that upon successful verification, a certificate of registration will be issued to the People’s Front for Freedom.
