KAMPALA-87 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed by the Ministry of Health in Uganda, bringing the total infections to 128,120.
According to the ministry of health ,these new cases were confirmed from the tests it ran on December 12 .
The new cases, are from Wakiso 42, Kampala 13, while Kyotera and Adjumani have seven each.
Isingiro district has two cases, while Busia and Amuru have one each. The ministry said 14 truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 in Kyotera (12), Amuru (1) and Tororo (1).
Statistics from the ministry show no any more COVID-19 deaths, saying the total was still 3,269.
Those who had recovered from COVID-19 are 97, 821 and that a total of 7, 888,584 vaccine doses had been administered in the country.
In his national addresses recently, President Yoweri Museveni said that by the end of December 2021, more than 12 million Ugandans should have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
He noted that by the end of December, Uganda will have received 23 million doses of vaccines and that he will fully open up the country in January next year whether people go for vaccination or not.
