NEWS– The speaker of Uganda’s parliament Rt. Hon. Anitah Annet Among and her deputy Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa Bangyirana have flagged off Members of Parliament who will represent Uganda at the East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games in Mombasa, Kenya.
Among and Tayebwa flagged off the parliament team on Wednesday 4th December 2025 at the Parliament in Kampala.
Rt. Hon. Annitah Among encouraged the team to not only actively participate but also to focus on the core purpose of these games which she said is to strengthen, deepen and advance the integration of the East African Community (EAC).
“Through sports, let us champion our shared vision of a united and prosperous East Africa”, she added.
The East African inter parliamentary games will run from 6th to 18th December 2024 in Mombasa Kenya.
The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Sports Club, Hon. Asuman Basalirwa said Team Uganda is well prepared to defend their title at the EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games in Mombasa.
State Minister for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang commends Parliament for the overwhelming support to the sports development in the country stressing that no wonder trophies are coming in from various parts of the country.
