RUKUNGIRI- It was tears of joy and celebration day at Hotel Okapi in Western Division Rukungiri Municipality as a cross section of Rukungiri District Political leaders and technocrats Scientifically gathered to bid farewell to the outgoing Rukungiri District Deputy Resident Commissioner Abubaker Birungi.
Birungi who has been in Rukungiri District for six months was transferred to Mubende in the recent internal transfers made by the Office of the President.
Geoffrey Kyomukama the Rukungiri District boss and Chief Administrative Officer Elias Byamungu hailed Birungi for his best approach towards solving issues brought to his office.
The duo praised the outgoing deputy RDC for the spirit he has instilled in different leaders for the time he has been in the district stressing that his tactics will take them miles in service delivery.
The Resident District Commissioner Steven Bewayo Nsubuga hailed Birungi for taking RDCs office to the grassroot which isn’t common with other people serving in the same capacity.
He advised him to keep his hands clean as he has been stressing that his new placement has several land issues most of which would work towards tarnishing his name.
Birungi hailed the Rukungiri District leadership for a warm welcome and conducive working environment rendered to him for the time he has been in the district.
He added that although he’s taking on another placement, his heart will always remain with Rukungiri people since he has had good time with them.
