RUKUNGIRI- Contractors have been called upon to always ensure value for money from the government before projects are commissioned and awarded.
The Rukungiri District Deputy RDC Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongomo made the remarks while speaking as the chief Guest during the renovation launch of Kagogo slaughter slab in western division, Rukungiri municipality.
Ongom asked all the stakeholders to take ownership of this Project because it is an advantage to all and further asked project supervisors to make sure that anything sub-standard is not allowed.
He called for transparency and accountability of 27 million shillings and requested the contractor to adhere to the BOQs to save him from doing shoddy work.

His Worship Charles Makuru, the Rukungiri Municipality mayor asked the executive to ensure regular meeting to monitor these projects during execution other than waiting to make reports of shoddy work during commissioning.
He asked the contractor to work together with councilors and stakeholders to ensure commendable work.

Eng. Hangson Sulait Nuwamanya the Acting Municipal Engineer advised the Contractors to quality work and timely completion of the project to avoid any problems that will tarnish their Reputation.
The project contracted by Ngabi Construction Company Limited is expected to be completed in 2 months.
Paul Karenzi the assistant town clerk Rukungiri municipality this has been a need for the whole community and requested the contractor to do the needful in time so as to earn more opportunities within the district.
