RUKUNGIRI- In a significant move to bolster financial stability and support among its members, Rukungiri District NRM mobilizers association has officially elected its leadership for the new initiative of transforming to a Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (Sacco).

This initiative aims to provide members with easier access to credit, promote savings, and encourage economic empowerment within the community.

Members who converged at Rukungiri Inn Gardens in Easter Division elected Johnson Katungi as their BOD chairperson, Jolly Komugisha as vice, Chrispus Tumukunde as General Secretary, Musiime Jacenta as Treasurer, Kushemerwa Oodira, Ankunda Sharon, Muzamiru Kagwa, Muyambi Wickson aka Enkuduman and Kapesha Johnson as Committee members.

Rukungiri NRM Mobilisers Sacco will be governed by a board elected from among the party members, ensuring that the leadership is directly accountable to its constituents.

This democratic approach emphasizes transparency and member participation in decision-making processes.

The leaders promised to work hard to ensure success of the Sacco and mobilizing support for the National Resistance Movement NRM- that brought them together towards this cause.

Members of the Sacco will enjoy several benefits, including Low-Interest Loans, Dividends on Savings, and Financial Education among others.

The Sacco idea has been met with enthusiasm from party members and the community, many seeing it as a vital step towards self-reliance and economic empowerment.

With a startup capital of Ugx. 22 million, the formation of Rukungiri NRM mobilizers Sacco marks a proactive step by the political party’s association to address financial challenges faced by its members.
