NEWS– The Uganda Police force has warned the public against fake pastors and traditional healers.
According to ACP Rusoke Kituuma , the police spokesperson numerous individuals in Uganda have fallen victim to fake pastors and traditional healers.
The Police spokesperson noted that this has resulted in significant financial losses amounting to millions of shillings.
He noted that preliminary police investigations reveal among others individuals who pose as religious pastors during the day but transform into traditional healers at night stressing that their places of worship often include traditional shrines.
Among others, the investigations further have it that when victims demand refunds which is usually inform of cash and physical property, these fake pastors /healers resort to issuing threats.
Kituuma noted that the police have identified several suspects and plan to expose them as well as have them prosecuted.
“In the meantime, we urge the public to be cautious and report any encounters with these deceitful individuals to police”, he added.
