Rotaract Club of Rukungiri installed Rtr Tatiana Sarah Tancredi Atuhaire as the club’s second President during an installation ceremony held yesterday evening at Heritage Country Resort, with the Southern Division featured as the function highlight, underscoring the club’s drive to support the development of the town.
In his remarks, the outgoing President Rtr Sir Davis highlighted the importance of ensuring the sustainability of the club. He explained that his term focused on ensuring the club has legal documents, strengthening efforts to maintain and increase membership, and continuing to deliver service programs that impact the community. He also noted the club’s career and education guidance initiatives conducted in schools including Immaculate Heart Girls Nyakibale, St. Geralds SS, and Kashenyi SS.
He added that the club supported Ihimbo Primary School in Bwambara and Rukungiri Primary School with scholastic materials benefiting over 120 children of candidate classes.

Upon installation, President Tatiana Sarah Tancredi Atuhaire called for unity, saying that togetherness can help the club achieve its objectives and development goals. She thanked God for the milestone and encouraged the cabinet she will work with to step up and continue building achievements made by the outgoing cabinet as she cited that her term will focus on construction of Public shade or sit between Rwamahwa and district headquarters along Rukungiri-Kanungu road and also installing street lights to fight darkness in Rukungiri town.

The event was supported by other clubs, including Rotary Club of Rukungiri Central, Rotaract Club Rwaahi and Munyonyo, and Rotaract Clubs from Mbarara, Bushenyi, Kabale, and Ntungamo. Key sponsors recognized included Centenary Bank as Mother club President Rotarian Annet thanked Rotarian Davis for his commitment since the start of his term and congratulated Tatiana.
Also present were new members Lizz Ainembabazi and Akampa Ronald (among 8 inductees), who shared their reasons for joining, including meeting professionals and contributing to community development.

The chief guest Abel Kahala from Rotary Club of Mbarara advised the incoming committee to work with approval from relevant authorities for projects so the club remains protected and properly supported by the government. He indicated that these organisations are focused on helping helpless people to meet services.
