According to Joel Ssenyonyi, the National Unity Platform party spokesperson and the leader of opposition noted that they were joined by the families of these comrades who are demanding that the regime adheres with the court decision and immediately releases these prisoners of conscience.
He noted that they will use all avenues to push for justice and accountability!.
David Lewis Rubongoya, the National Unity Platform party Secretary General noted that their comrades are incarcerated by the now defunct court martial.
“we have filed an application at the civil division of the High Court, asking court to issue an order for their unconditional release from detention, in fulfilment of the Supreme Court order that discontinued the trial of civilians by the General Court Martial”, he added.
