NEWS– The FDC Katonga faction has finally launched the collection of signatures in a bid to register its new political vehicle the People’s Front for Freedom.

The group launched the collection on 7th October 2024 at their headquarters at Katonga and was led by their acting president who is also the Kampala City Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago.

While Launching the exercise, Erias Lukwago stated that he expects no interruption from State Agencies across the Country since it’s a lawfully sanctioned exercise in fulfillment of requirement by the Electoral Commission to register a Party.

He further said that the last FDC Delegates Conference resolved to among many register a new Political Party and therefore this exercise is for the purpose of effecting the resolution.

The PFF has since reserved a White and Royal Blue colors and a Phone as its identifying symbols.

The FDC Katonga faction launched collection of signatures as the group seeks to register its People’s Front for Freedom as a new political party following its breakaway from the FDC at Najjanankumbi.

The launch follows the green light given by the Electoral Commission last week on the registration of the new political vehicle.

The FDC Katonga group is required to collect 50 signatures from at least 97 districts in Uganda.
