RUBANDA. The Police in Rubanda district have launched investigations to establish the cause of a fatal accident that left one person dead and another one hospitalised.
According to Elly Maate,the Kigezi Region police spokesperson the fatal accident that happened on Wednesday 1st September 2021 at around 8:00am at Mukirabo village, Hamuhambo town council in Rubanda district left a one Sam Byamugisha dead.
Maate noted that the accident involved a Senke motorcycle registration number UET 57C ridden by a now deceased Sam Byamugisha a resident of Bushato village, Hamuhambo town council in Rubanda district and another motorcycle Bajaj boxer registration number UFG212G ridden by Sofi Muhumuza, 18 a resident of Bubare trading centre in Rubanda district.
Maate confirmed to our reporter that Byamugisha died after being rushed to the hospital and Muhumuza is currenly admited at Medicus clinic Kabale township.
The scene of crime was visited by police and one motorcycle was taken to Bunyonyi police post where it is currently parked whereas another one was hidden.
Maate noted that inquiries are on going to establish the cause of the accident.
