NEWS– The government body responsible for the collection of the country’s revenue, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has recognized and awarded Uganda Police Force for their invaluable support in revenue mobilization and national development.

This was in the URA’s 18th Tax Payers’ Appreciations Awards ceremony held on Wednesday 11th December 2024 at the URA Headquarters in Nakawa.

The Uganda Police Force was represented by AIGP Moses Kafeero who represented IGP at the receipt of the award.

The Police have been recognised for demonstrating steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety of URA staff, offices, and assets thereby facilitating smooth revenue collection activities.

The contributions extends beyond security as Police have played a crucial role in supporting Non-Tax Revenue mobilization particularly through the effective implementation of Express Penalties.

The Police have also been instrumental in ensuring compliance during field operations and safeguarding taxpayers and businesses during challenging moments such as the EFRIS-related unrest.
