NEWS- Kampala City Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Shamim Malende has welcomed an initiative by Kampala Capital City Authority companies an opportunity to apply to provide standardized garbage landfills to avert any possibilities of causing further danger like what happened in Kiteezi recently.
This followed reports that after KCCA faced the landfill crisis, they are sourcing companies with garbage landfills to take up this work on behalf of the City Authority.
MP Malende said this would ease the garbage collection in Kampala because the garbage would be taken to well-managed landfills with less danger to people’s lives.
The legislator added that it would be better for KCCA to speed up the process of getting companies to recycle the garbage collected from Kampala.
