NEWS– The Police in Rwampara District are holding one person in connection to murder.
The arrested is a one only identified as Bananas a resident of the Mweya cell, Nyeihanga ward in Rwampara district.
Banabas was arrested in connection with the murder of Tumwesigye Damazo, a resident of the same address and is reportedly the son of the deceased.
Residents found Damazo’s body in a roadside trench on 22nd February 2025, and alerted Police which introduced its canine unit dog Hector to the scene of crime.
Hector tracked a human scent from the crime scene to Banabas’ home, approximately 1.5 kilometers away.
A search of the premises yielded a black T-shirt with blood stains, which Banabas’ wife had allegedly taken to a neighbor’s home.
Investigations have revealed that Banabas and the deceased were not on good terms.
The police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Damazo’s murder.
