Police in Rukungiri have in detention a 33 yrs old Atukwatsire Lenato alias Ronald for alleged murder of his biological father one Byebiroha Nesiforo 61yrs old both residents of Karuhara cell Ndago parish Nyarushanje sub county Rukungiri district.
Police report says ,It’s alleged that on 19/08/2023 at around 11:00pm at Karuhara cell Ndago parish Nyarushanje sub county Rukungiri district one Atukwatse Lenato alias Ronald assaulted his biological father to death using a blunt object.
Elly Maate Kigezi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident to reporters noting that the deceased, suspect and one Kitaragabirwe Beatrice (wife of the deceased) were staying together in the same house. According to Maate the suspect used to go back home late in the night, force doors open, an act that would anger the deceased causing him to warn the suspect who could respond by threatening to kill the father.
On Saturday 19/08/2023 at around 12:00am Kitaragabirwe Beatrice left both the deceased and the suspect at home and went to Nyarushanje Catholic church for prayers.
Beatrice stressed that on Sunday 20/08/2023 at around 01:00am after returning home she found Byebiroha Nesiforo dead lying in pool of blood in the compound between the kitchen and their main house. And her son Atukwatse Lenato alias Ronald (suspect) wasn’t at home.
She raised an alarm that attracted local residents who arrested the son.
A case was reported by Amutuhire Mathias, scene was visited and documented, suspect was arrested and detained at Rukungiri CPS and body taken to Rwakabengo Health Center III mortuary for postmortem.Inquiries are at hand.
