NEWS– It is a dark Monday for the football nation in Uganda, Africa and the whole world as death robs one of the best personalities of the game.
The deceased is Abubaker Lawal, 29 who has been a player at the Kitende based Uganda Premier League side Vipers Football club.
The Nigerian born Lawal perished in the morning of 24th February 2025 in an accident in Entebbe.
The sad news of Lawal’s sudden death was confirmed by the Vipers FC management who took to their official social media handles to announce his death.

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden and untimely passing of our beloved player, Abubakar Lawal, who left us this morning.
He’s body has been transferred to a medical facility for postmortem examination. Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Lawal’s family, club fans, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
