KAMPALA-A traffic officer who has been identified as police constable Harshim Nwenyi was killed by mob at Makerere Nakulabye Junction near Nicodemus pork joint.
AIGP Asan Kasingye, the Police Political Commissar confirmed the development through his twitter handle narrating that the deceased left his Tororo unit to visit his girlfriend in Kampala.
Kasingye explained that after, the two had misunderstanding over messages on her phone which forced Nwenyi to walk away with the phone.
Kasingye narrated that the officer met his death after reaching at Makerere-Nakulabye junction when the girlfriend caught up with him and raised an alarm accusing him of theft that led the mob to lynch him.
Speaking with our reporter, the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said no arrests had been made yet.
