RUKUNGIRI-School Administrators have been advised to always motivate learners and their teachers as a means to boost their academic performance.
This was revealed by the vice chairperson of Rukungiri district Local Government Nahwera Santrinah during the function of awarding 2020 best PLE performers of Omurusheshe primary School in Buhunga sub county, Rukungiri district on Friday.
In 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations, Omurusheshe primary school got 13 pupils in grade one, 51 in grade two, 14 in grade three and 4 in grade four.
However the function was intended to reward 13 pupils who passed with division one together with their teachers and each pupil was given a mattress.
Speaking at the function, Nahwera explained that most schools don’t normally take it serious to motivate learners and teachers which would boost their performance stressing that it’s high time for administrators to think about it since we are in a competitive world.
Nahwera also advised those awarded to continue reading hard in their next levels of education, be disciplined if they are to be successful in their academics.

At the same function, Kembabazi Peace the Inspector of Schools in Rukungiri district encouraged the best 2020 PLE performers to concentrate on their books to keep winning in their next Education levels.
Kembabazi used the same function to ask teachers to desist from heavily punishing learners but rather look for other alternative means of disciplining them that won’t force them out of schools.
Musinguzi Emmanuel Kirakurate the headteacher of Omurusheshe Primary school said that the main intention of the function was to fulfill the school’s culture of rewarding all best performers to motivate other lower in class learners.

Musinguzi encouraged learners to always pay attention during classes to get their expectations related to academics in the next PLE.
Ankunda Vanita, Mugume Shafik and Nuwamanya Joshua, some of the best performers told our reporter that their success was characterized by discipline, reading books, respect of the teachers and smartness urging the current classes to practice the same.
