Rukungiri Municipality distributes tablets to enhance PDM program

NEWS- The Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen launched the distribution of 26 tablet– mobile computing devices to Rukungiri Municipal town agents to manage and monitor Parish Development Model (PDM) implementation.

While handing over the devices to the technocrats yesterday at Rukungiri municipal council headquarters, Nsubuga called for the generation of quality and timely data for decision-making that will make PDM successive.

The RDC called upon the recipients to fully utilize the equipment to strengthen PDM Information System (PDMIS) at the community level. Nsubuga called for discipline about these gadgets and do away with the tendency of looking at them as a government property.

According to Charles Makuru, the Rukungiri Municipal mayor, despite the progress in PDM implementation, town agents have always raised concerns about insufficient allowances but rallied them to avoid mismanagement of the funds.

Makuru hailed Rukungiri Municipality for being the first in usage of PDM funds in Kigezi region and the third in the whole country and performing well. He applauded the government for giving these gadgets that this will reduce congestion of beneficiaries

Nuwamanya Robert the Rukungiri Municipality Town clerk asked them to use the gadgets for successive stories and to always report all legal developments if not they will be held accountable.

Nuwamanya expressed gratitude to the President of Uganda for supporting the digitization of the PDM program.
