NEWS– The National Unity Platform has finally replaced the embattled Buganda region party Deputy President Mathias Mpuga Nsamba.
This has been announced by the Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya while addressing the press held on 16th January 2025 at the party headquarters in Makerere Kavuule.
This was in a party move to unveil some new NEC members in the following positions that have been vacant.
Among the new leaders is the new Deputy president for Buganda Muwanga Kivumbi who replaces Hon. Mathias Mpuuga who left the party following his suspension
The following are other new appointed members of the NEC;
1. National Consultative Forum Vice Chairperson is now comrade Benjamin Katana who replaces the deceased Maama Jolly Mugisha.
2. Deputy Secretary for Youth in Western region is now Bwambale Geoffrey who replaces Aguuda Moses.
3. Secretary for the Eldery formerly occupied by the late Mzee Byarugaba William is now occupied by Rev. Dr. Benon Byamugisha.
4. Secretary for Policy formerly occupied by the deceased Simon Toolit will now be occupied by Harriet Ageno.
5. Secretary for PWDs formerly occupied by Isabirye is now occupied by Mr. Julius Maganda.
6. Deputy President for Western Uganda formerly occupied by Maama Jolly Mugisha (RIP) will be replaced by Jolly Jackline Tukamushaba
It should be noted that according to the David Lewis Rubongoya the above individuals have been appointed in acting capacity till the delegates conference that is due for June this year.
