Brothers chase their biological mother from her home

MBARARA– Two people are in Police detention in Mbarara district after they are said to have chased their biological mother from her home.

The two are Nuwagaba Julius 44 and Asiimwe Ronald 37 who allegedly chased their mother Kenteramo Irene Paskazia 65, from her house in Kariro, Kashari North in Mbarara district.

It is said that the suspects sold their share of the family property and wasted the money to the extent of failing to take care of their five children. The mother has been the looking after the kids since their fathers already neglected them.

The OC Station Rubindi Police ASP Amos Betungura confirmed the arrest of the suspects stating that they will be charged with threatening violence.

In another development, a 30 year old man has handed himself to police after murdering his nephew in Kyesabo Village, Kiyanga Parish in Kiyanga Sub County.

The suspect is Bainobwengye Albert who hacked and chopped off the head of Turyatunga Alfred aged 10 years a resident of Kisizi II Village, Kisizi Parish in Kiyanga Sub County, Mitioma district on Monday 2nd September 2024 at around 12:30pm.

On the same day at 1:24pm, the suspect handed himself to Kiyanga Police Post with a blood stained panga and informed police that he murdered his nephew in the presence of Bataringaya Thomas.

The suspect was immediately arrested by sgt. Aheisibwe Innocent and inquiries instituted vide Kiyanga Police post SD Ref: 04/02/09/2024 and subsequently Mitooma CRB 517/2024.

Blood stained panga was recovered from the suspect and the scene of crime visited by soco and a team of police officers led by D/AIP Muhinda Samuel. The body of the deceased was conveyed to Mitooma Health Center IV for postmortem.

The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed this incident to press stressing that the suspect is yet to be examined on police form 24 to ascertain his mental status as police inquries into the matter continue.
