RUKUNGIRI– The Rujumbura County area Member of Parliament who is also the security Minister Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has challenged the urbanites on supporting communities of origin.
Hon. Jim Muhwezi made the revelation yesterday during the fundraising event at Kajunju Primary School in Ruhinda Sub County Rukungiri district.
The fundraising event was intended to mobilize funds for the construction of four classroom blocks estimated to cost 145M shillings.
Addressing the congregation, Hon. Jim Muhwezi hailed people from Kajunju residing in Kampala and other areas for the great initiative to revive their school which he said should be embraced by all people if their communities are to develop.
Muhwezi officially launched the construction works of four classroom block at Kajunju Primary School with 20M shillings to support the project.

Canon Benson Turamye, the Executive Director of Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) who also hails from Kajunju in Ruhinda Sub County revealed that it is through education for what most of them are today being the reason they decided to support their school.
Canon Ben called on the people of Ruhinda and Rukungiri at large to embrace education as key to a brighter future. Canon Benson Turamye mobilized over 30M shillings to support this cause.

Gumisiriza Obadiah, Kajunju Primary School head teacher outlined how low school enrollment is caused by parents’ practice of moving their children to different schools.
Gumisiriza stated that they hope to see an increase in pupils’ enrollment because the government built a structure in addition to the four classroom blocks that will be built.
Over 100M shillings was raised during the function and the big portion was contributed by “Abanya Ruhinda ba Rujumbura”.
