RUKUNGIRI-The Public has been encouraged to always limit their expenses if to be successful in their day to day lifestyles.
This was revealed by the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen while officiating the ground breaking water project in Kikongyi parish, Bwambara sub county Rukungiri district.
The water project which will benefit the residents of Kateramo, Ihimbo, and Rushebeya, all in Kikongyi parish Bwambara Sub County in its first phase will cost Ugx 200 million.

RDC Nsubuga advised residents to learn on how to spend and save their money since most of them will be employed and earn from the project such that they can easily get income and get rid of poverty at household level.
Nsubuga urged people to use a favorable environment in terms of peace and security provided by the NRM government to work hard and increase their household income instead of waiting for help.

He advised parents to take care of their children by providing all basic needs including education adding that most children have failed to get back to school due to lack of seriousness by their parents.
Nsubuga also advised residents of Kikongyi to use the advantage of water provided to them to promote good sanitation in their homes and the entire community to fight for poor hygienic related illnesses like jiggers and bed bugs that recently attacked the area.
Deus Twekwase the Rukungiri district water officer asked residents to own the project and take care of it since it’s going to help their community.
Twekwase called upon residents to cooperate with the project contractors to have it completed in stipulated time for their benefit.
Chris Kagayano the Bwambara sub county chairperson explained that his area faces numerous challenges related to water scarcity and thanked the government for the good step being taken to solve the problem.
The project was contracted by “SBR General Suppliers and Construction Limited” and the first phase which will cost Ugx 200M is expected to be done in a period of five months whereas the entire project will cost 800M.
