RUKUNGIRI– Uganda’s Security Minister who doubles as the Rujumbura County MP Hon. Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi Katugugu has tasked Christians to do their responsibility by giving their children good education that is paramount for their future.
The Minister revealed this yesterday in a message by his political Assistant Isaac Kaharuza during a thanksgiving mass for the completion of two block classrooms of Nyanganjara Primary school, a function held at Kitunguru catholic Church in Bugangari sub-county, Rukungiri district.
Minister Muhwezi He said that it would be the role of the government to do infrastructure improvements and renovation but owing to inadequate funds, parents should jointly work hard to put infrastructure at the required level.
He condemned the habit of head teachers sending pupils home for money noting that it is not accepted by the Ministry of Education and Sports and that culprits shall be arrested.

Minister Muhwezi supported the school project with cement worth 50 bags of cement. Rev. Fr. Jeremiah Tumwijukye of Rwengiri Parish hailed Minister Muhwezi for supporting his constituency without discrimination and called Christians to support him when time comes.
He added that the church pioneered education in Uganda and challenged Christians to always support schools especially church-founded ones which he said would foster development.
Hon Medius Kaharata the Rukungiri District Woman Member of Parliament urged parents to own the school, cooperate with management and staff to bring up bright pupils that will develop their communities in future.
Hon Medius Natukunda Kaharata contributed 200,000 ugx to support the project.
