There were lots of smiles and glitter at Nyabihinga Primary School in Eastern Division Rukungiri municipality as Counsel Isaac Atukunda who eyes for area Parliamentary seat delivered his vow of fifty bags of cement.
Counsel Isaac Atukunda was represented by his team led by political Assistant Mr. Fred Mucunguzi who handed over the cement to school administration.
Counsel Isaac had promised the donation on June 22rd 2024 as part of his contribution towards the construction of staff houses at Nyabihinga Primary School.
On behalf of parents, administration, and foundation body, the team handed over the cement to school leaders led by the head teacher.
The head teacher of the school, Mrs. Kyomuhendo Peace, praised Counsel Isaac Atukunda for his steadfast support of the staff housing construction shortly after receiving the assortment.
Kyomuhendo pledged to use the contributed cement sensibly and for the intended use.
Counsel Isaac’s political assistant, Mucunguzi Fred, who gave the cement to the school administration, praised Atukunda for keeping his word and for supporting not just the schools but also the provision of services to the residents of Rukungiri municipality.
Mucunguzi pleaded with the school administration to use the donated cement for its intended use, since teachers travel great distances to work.
Madam Constance Tumusiime the speaker of Rukungiri municipality also expressed her happiness that Atukunda had honored his promise to the school, saying this would hasten the completion of teachers’ housing.
She continued by saying that Counsel Isaac has helped them in several ways as municipal leaders since it enables people to receive better services.
