NEWS– The president of the National Unity Platform Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi wine has condemned government’s move to rationalize Uganda Coffee Development Authority UCDA.

This was during a presser held on 28th October 2024 held at the party headquarters in Makerere Kavuule.

During the press conference , Bobi wine “condemned the regime’s move to abolish the Coffee Development Authority and transfer its mandate to the Ministry of Agriculture”.

According to Bobi wine, the ministry has proven its incompetence in handling other crucial agricultural sectors stressing that this move is intended to “ring fence Uganda’s coffee industry and deprive of a livelihood the millions of farmers who depend on it, especially those in the central region”.

He called out Speaker Anita Among’s tribal comments against the Baganda, which he said are part of the regime’s wider agenda to marginalize Uganda’s biggest population and keep it impoverished.

Kyagulanyi highlighted the plight of Olivia Lutaaya and other political prisoners recently ‘forced’ into false guilty pleas, and once again demanded accountability for their missing comrades like John Bosco Kibalama whom he said the regime disappeared several years ago.

“We must remain united and resilient despite the oppression, and stand firm in our struggle for justice and freedom in Uganda”, he added.
