Support your local Schools with learners- MP Rutahigwa tells parents

NEWS- The Rukungiri Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa has called upon parents to support local schools by enrolling their children therein to ease the burden on caring for them.

Rutahigwa made the remarks on Tuesday, January 4th 2025 while officiating at a function to celebrate stellar performance in 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations at Kinyasano Boarding Primary School in Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

The MP advised parents not to neglect their local schools priotising the distant ones stressing that this retards development. He urged the celebrants to continue behaving well and working hard to maintain their legacy of academic excellence.

Rev. Muntrive Nshabaruhanga the Education Coordinator for North Kigezi Diocese representing Bishop Onesmus Asiimwe urged the candidates to push on with academics in pursuit for better future employment opportunities.

Nshabaruhanga tasked Kinyasano Boarding Primary School administration to uphold ethical standards by avoiding inappropriate relationships with colleagues and pupils to ensure quality education.

Rev Nshabaruhanga told parents to continue praying for their children since they have joined another level of education that will determine their future.

Bernard Tumushangye the headteacher of Kinyasano Boarding Primary School hailed teachers, parents, school committees, and pupils for their zeal and hardwork that led to good academic performance in 2024 PLE.

136 candidates sat for PLE at the School, 96 passed in Division One while 40 passed in Division Two. They were awarded with mattresses, blankets, books, mathematical sets, and pens in recognition of their hard work.
