Students at Makobole High School have been encouraged to focus on hard work and faithfulness to God as they prepare for the upcoming Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) examinations.

The call was made by Right Reverend Bishop Onesmus Asimwe of the North Kigezi Diocese during a dedication service for S.4 and S.6 candidates held yesterday in the school’s main hall.

Bishop Onesmus emphasized the importance of hard work in academic pursuits, describing it as the key to success. He urged students to view education as a precious gift from their parents and guardians, stressing the importance of not wasting time, as “time wasted is never gained.”

In his remarks, the Bishop encouraged students to maintain their faithfulness to God, stating that “fearing God is the beginning of wisdom.” He highlighted the significance of discipline and the power of prayer in overcoming fear and achieving excellence in exams.

The headteacher of Makobole High School, Arinaitwe Gard Gakibayo, expressed gratitude to Bishop Onesmus, his wife Frolence Asimwe, and other guests for their support.

He noted that their presence demonstrates a deep love for the school. Gard also encouraged students to uphold discipline by avoiding drugs, including alcohol and smoking, and to align their lives with God for guidance in their studies.

He emphasized the need for cooperation among students, school administration, parents, and clergy to ensure the success of Makobole High School.

The Chairperson for the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), Behakana Edward Bright, reassured students that they should not fear the upcoming exams, as the questions will be based on their studies.

He urged them to engage in diligent reading and discussions to excel. Edward also called for discipline among students and cooperation with staff and parents to achieve success.
