KAMPALA- Kiruddu National Referral Hospital has been accorded the SANAS status from the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS).
It has been certified as a Ugandan Hospital that meets international standards in respect of Conformity Assessment, Calibration and Good Laboratory Practice.
Kirudu is a Government Hospital directly managed by the Ministry of Health and attends to all refered patients from all over the country and also serves as a teaching hospital for medical students of the College of Health Sciences of Makerere University.
The hospital has a capacity of 200 beds for inpatient treatment and 14 outpatient clinics, which serve approximately 300-500 patients daily.
According to Dr Charles Kabugo Kirudu Hospital has the largest infectious disease ward in the country, as well as the only ward specializing in the treatment of patients with burns
