The Assistant Bishop for International Relations from the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, Bishop Malcolm Richards, accompanied by his wife, Mama Elizabeth, are on a two day visit to North Kigezi Diocese.
This visit follows a prior meeting between Bishop Malcolm and Bishop Onesimus of North Kigezi Diocese during the latter’s trip to Australia in October 2024.
Their discussions focused on key partnerships, including Canon Ndimbirwe Bible College, the Ministry Training Strategy (MTS), and Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) initiatives. As the GAFCON Regional Secretary for Australia and the Pacific, Bishop Malcolm brought valuable insights to the talks.
Bishop Onesimus expressed heartfelt appreciation for the visit, noting its role in strengthening ties between the North Kigezi Diocese and the Diocese of Sydney. “As I step into my new role as GAFCON Regional Secretary for East Africa, my conversations with Bishop Malcolm, who has extensive experience, have been immensely beneficial,” he stated.
The next GAFCON event, a conference for all GAFCON Bishops and their wives, is scheduled for March 2026 in Abuja, Nigeria.
