KAMPALA- A total of 324 students from South Sudan were among over 1000 students who graduated at Team University Kampala on Friday 29th November 2024 that took place at Pope Paul Memorial hotel.
A total of 1251 received their Master’s degree, degrees, diploma and certificates during the 13th graduation ceremony of Team University.
Prof. Tarsis Banzana Kabwengyere the chancellor Team University presided over the 13th graduation ceremony.
He praised the Board of Trustees headed by David Tushabomwe Ndindirize for the vision of starting University as the way of fighting against ignorance in the continent.
“We are on the 13th graduation ceremony and I am imagining those who will attend the 130th graduation ceremony how this university will be looking,” he said.

Kabwegyere said none of the people who are here today will attend the 130th graduation ceremony.
He urged graduates to use the knowledge acquired here to create jobs in their respective areas rather than waiting for the government to give them jobs.
“If you cannot make a positive difference in your village in your district, know that you’re a failure,” he said.
He said they should have an agenda for themselves, their families, their village district and the country.

The chairperson board of trustees, David Tushabomwe Ndindirize thanked the government of NRM under the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Mama Janet Musevèni for the conducive atmosphere that allowed private University to operate in Uganda.
“This institution started in 2000 as an accounts training institution but has since grown to one of the leading private universities in the country offering business, education and of recent Sciences to fill the gap that has been existing in the country for long,” he said.
He praised Parents for supporting their children by meeting their school dues.
He said soon the whole University will be a residential University since it is receiving many students outside the country.
He said much as South Sudan has many students in the university but other students come from Kenya, Rwanda and Congo.

The vice chancellor Prof. Lutaro Bbossa said the university has two graduations annually, one in May and another one in November which we are in now..
He said in May 2024 a total of 1667 graduated compared to 1251 that graduated on friday.
He said a total of 503 are females and 748 are males. A total of 31 graduated with Master’s degree, 130 for post graduate diplomas, 520 degrees, and 512 got their diplomas while 58 walkway with certificates.
Edward Kibaya was named the best student with a CGPA of 4.77 distinction.
