NTUNGAMO- The Police in Rubaare town council, Ntungamo District are investigating circumstances under which a man perished in a motorcycle accident along the Ntungamo – Kabale highway.
The incident left mechanics engulfed in shock and grief mourning their colleague whom the accident claimed at around 6:45 PM on Wednesday evening near omubatanyata-Omukidebe Rubaare.
The deceased has been identified as Trust Akampurira who was working as a morto service bay man at Marshall Petro station opposite GISA hardware in Rubaare town council along Ntungamo-Kabale highway.
Muhumuza Kigyere told our reporter that on Wednesday, he was with Akampurira Trust (now the deceased) at around lunch time bargaining on a motor vehicle spare machine but was dismayed at around 8:30 to hear that he had died.
The deceased breathed his last at People’s Clinic Rubaare where he was rushed for treatment after an accident that left him in critical condition.
According to his closest workmate at Marshall Petro station, Anet Marshall, the incident happened between two motorcycles that were yet to be identified by press time.
Anet narrated that Trust was riding a motorcycle from sides of Omungyenyi and another motorcycle ridden by a mandazi hawker man yet to be known rider collided head on with the workmate. He then fell in the road side trench and his head was badly injured.
The pump attendant added that he was rushed to a nearby People’s Clinic where he died a few minutes upon arrival after the health workers’ efforts failed to bring his breath up.
The health worker at the facility who spoke to our reporter on condition of anonymity said that Trust died of hemorrhage. The health worker explained that after the accident, Trust’s brain blood vessels ruptured and by the time he was brought to the facility, his condition was already out of hand.
The deceased was a resident of Nyakasiro cell, Bukinda Sub County in Rukiga district where he will be laid to rest. By press time, Police was yet to issue a statement regarding this accident.
