RUKUNGIRI- Business community and all stakeholders in Rukungiri Municipality have been urged to prioritize proper disposal of rubbish and wastes if they are to keep their town clean and themselves healthy.
The call was yesterday made by the Rukungiri Municipality aspiring MP Hon. Isaac Atukunda known to many as Counsel Isaac who was also the chief cleaner during the event that aimed at cleaning Rukungiri town.
The event initiated by Rukungiri Municipality Youth Sacco members that also featured Team counsel Isaac picked rubbish, swept the streets of Rukungiri town to ensure its cleanliness.

While flagging off the cleaning exercise at Rukungiri Municipality headquarters, John Bosco Twesigogomwe the Rukungiri Municipality Principal Community Development officer who represented the Town clerk emphasized the importance of cleanliness of the town stating that it promotes health and wealth among the population.
Twesigomwe thanked the Rukungiri Municipality Youth Sacco for coming up with the initiative to have Rukungiri town clean and promised Municipality authorities’ full support during such fruitful activities.

Innocent Muhwezi, the Rukungiri Municipality Youth Sacco chairperson appreciated the Sacco members for the discipline and cooperation exhibited during the cleaning exercise.
Muhwezi revealed that the poor sanitary conditions of the town forced them to swing into action to clean the streets and sensitize people about the dangers of poor sanitation caused by poor disposal of rubbish.
