The West Ankole Diocesan Secretary Rev Joseph Mweyungye has asked students never to make their parents sad but rather strive to make them rejoice.

Reverend Mweyungye who was preaching at the climax of a three day students convention at Mayanga Seed Secondary School in Mayanga Sub County, Mitooma District urged Students to set goals for their future, not to lose hope for they will reap from their hard work.

Mweyungye hinted on characteristics of hopelessness among students stressing that one of them is desire for what is beyond their level, hence urged them to take good care of their bodies so that they can study well and become important members of their families and community.

The school headteacher Samuel Ainebyoona hailed the Diocesan Secretary Rev Joseph Mweyungye for spending the day with them adding that it was an honor for students to share on his knowledge.

Ainebyoona told a congregation that consisted of parents, students, politicians and other invited guests that God has seen them through numerous hardships to successes citing an example of an increment to an enrollment that is 1300 students so far.

He expressed hope that this convention will help in shaping the students’ behavior that will in turn boost their performance.

Dr. Geoffrey Kiraka, the Vice Chairman School’s Board of Governors expressed gratitude to the school for organizing such a momentous convention he’s optimistic will impact fruitfulness in the students’ academic journey.

Over 300 students received Jesus Christ as their personal saviour and the School chaplain Janat Nimwesiga promised to follow them up to ensure that they walk in Godly right path.

The convention themed “Let us not get tired of doing good” drawn from Galatians 6:9 started on Friday and ended on Sunday last week.
