NEWS– Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye Kifefe, a prominent Ugandan opposition leader has allegedly gone missing.
Taking to her X handle formerly twitter, Winnie Byanyima the wife to Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye Kifefe requested the government of Uganda to immediately release her husband from where he is being held.
According to Byanyima, her husband was kidnapped last Saturday while in Nairobi Kenya where he had gone for Hon. Martha Karua’s book launch.
Byanyima revealed that she is from reliable sources informed that her husband in in military jail in Uganda capital Kampala questioning why in military jail yet he is not a soldier.
“I request the govt of Uganda to release my husband Dr Kizza Besigye from where he is being held immediately.
He was kidnapped last Saturday while he was in Nairobi for Hon Martha Karua’s book launch. I am now reliably informed that he is in a military jail in Kampala.
We his family and his lawyers demand to see him. He is not a soldier. Why is he being held in a military jail?”, Byanyima’s tweet revealed.
FDC Katonga faction officials say they lost contact with Dr. Kizza Besigye on 16th November 2024 and their leader was last seen at an apartment in Nairobi’s Westlands area, reportedly attending a meeting with unidentified individuals.
