The UPDF 2 Infantry Division is hosting RDF 5  Infantry Division football club on 31 May 2025 at Kyamate playground in Ntugamo Municipality in Ntugamo district.

This is the first ever military formations’ sports activity to be conducted between  UPDF and RDF since commencement of Proximity Commanders engagements.  It is a historic event for our Formations and units.

The RDF Sports team will be received in Uganda by Maj Gen Paul Muhanguzi, UPDF 2 Infantry Division Commander and other UPDF Senior Military officials for a friendly football match  which will be witnessed by our strategic allies ( the civilian population).

In conjunction with the Local leadership, the two teams will conduct Civil Military Cooperation activities in Ntugamo Municipality .

These activities include, a route match in Ntugamo town, tree planting and blood donation and we appeal for every well wisher to join and enjoy this wonderful foot ball Match which will be free of charge for all.

The match is a culmination of a number of engagements between UPDF 2 Infantry Division and RDF 5 Infantry Division held on  different dates in the  Republic of Rwanda and Uganda.

The engagements are aimed at streamlining border  security issues such as combating crime by promoting security measures, encouraging cooperation with border communities and other relevant stakeholders among others.

We planned several activities which include; regular proximity Commanders meetings, Coordinated Operations, Joint training and sports activities among others.

These arrangements will facilitate proximity Cooperation especially on how best we can sufficiently handle cross border crime, security of our people and above all Socio economic transformation of our communities.

This will significantly facilitate and strengthen our cordial relations and bonding as military formations handling border security of our countries.

This is one of the strongest pillars for cordial relations between Commanders at Operational and Tactical levels.

These Sports activities were recommended by the first, second third and Fourth military engagements in Rwanda and Uganda.

We are always greatiful  for Strategic guidance given to us by our beloved Head of state and Commander in Chief  of the Defence Forces, Gen (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba.

Otherwise, we welcome RDF Sports club to Kyamate playground in Ntugamo and encourage  people to witness this historic event.
