RUKUNGIRI. A well known Rukungiri businessman is counting loses worth millions of money after his motor vehicle was involved in an accident.
The vehicle Fuso fighter registration number UAL 409D driven by Dan Nyesigyire was on Wednesday 8th September 2021 at around 12:30pm involved in an accident near Omukatoma Trading Centre in Kinyabushisha village, Kinyasano ward, Southern division in Rukungiri Municipality along Kinyasano-Nyabikuku-Bikurungu road.
It was discovered that vehicle belonged to the driver one Dan Nyesigye, the proprietor of Dan Shopping Centre located along Karegyesa street in Rukungiri Municipality.
By the time of accident, the driver and businessman Dan Nyesigye were in vehicle together with turnboy whose names were not disclosed and the vehicle was fully loaded with shop marchandise which included maize floor, cement, sodas, cartoons of water among many others.
The accident left no person dead or injured but the businessman is counting losses worth millions of money.
According to the Jordan Niwabikora, an eyewitnesses the driver lost control after the vehicle failed to move uphill.
Another eyewitnesses who preferred anonymity attributed the accident to over loading the act he said made the vehicle fail to move uphill at the place of scene as it had lots of stuff loaded.
Detectives from Rukungiri Central Police station and the traffic went to the scene to control the movement on the road and investigations have already started to discover the cause of an accident.
Micheal Oketayot, the Rukungiri CPS Acting OC traffic confirmed the accident but did not divulge the details stressing that he is still gathering information.
