Police speaks out on Tuesday night Masaka suspected ‘Bijambiya’ attack

NEWS. The Uganda Police Force has revealed the truth behind the alleged Masaka bijambiya attack.
 ASP Muhammad Nsubuga, the greater Masaka Police spokesperson stressed that the murder that surfaced in Kimanya B cell, Kimanya ward, Kimanya Kibonera Division in Masaka city was a result of domestic violence not bijambiya squad as earlier alleged.


Nsubuga confirmed the arrest of the suspect who is a husband to the deceased a one only identified as Moze.
The alleged murder that happened in the night of Tuesday 1st August 2021 took the life of Joan Nalubega Nalongo 23 a resident of the above mentioned address. ASP Muhammad Nsubuga revealed that the deceased was stabbed in the neck with a broken beer bottle the act that made her bleed to death.


According to Nsubuga, the couple first had a quarrel from their drinking joint that ended in a fight after they got home. 
Nsubuga narrated that response team led by the Masaka Police station OC responded immediately after getting information at around 3:00am but unfortunately found the victim already dead.


The Police on arrival arrested the suspect and also conveyed the body of the deceased to Masaka Referral hospital pending postmortem as  further investigations  are on going.

Nsubuga appealed to the general public to disregard claims that the murder is linked to the vicious killings by panga wielding assailants.

It was earlier alleged that Nalongo lost her life to the bijambiya squad as Police took streets and posed for photo shoots.
