In yesterday’s Annual General Meeting held at Makobole High School, Rev. MuntuRive Nshabaruhanga, the Diocesan Education Coordinator for North Kigezi, emphasized the importance of nurturing boy children alongside girls. His remarks on July 19, 2025, aimed to encourage parents to invest time and attention in their sons to ensure they grow into responsible men.

Rev. Nshabaruhanga stressed that focusing solely on girls could lead to a shortage of capable men who will eventually be partners for these women. He urged parents to be role models, noting that children often mirror their parents’ behavior. He also highlighted the necessity of spending quality time with children to understand their challenges and support their growth.

Gard Arinaitwe, Headteacher of Makobole High School, expressed gratitude for the strong turnout of parents at the meeting. He stated that the purpose of the gathering was to demonstrate accountability and share the school’s achievements, while also discussing strategies for continued excellence.

Arinaitwe emphasized that discipline is the cornerstone of success at the school, noting that their commitment to maintaining a disciplined environment among the 700 students has contributed significantly to their achievements. He extended his thanks to parents for choosing Makobole High School and acknowledged the support from Bishop Onesmus Asiimwe and the clergy, which bolsters the school’s spiritual foundation.

Behakanira Edward Bright, Chairperson of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), echoed the call for parental cooperation in fostering the development of boys. He thanked the parents for their participation and encouraged them to work together for the betterment of the school. Edward also praised the disciplined behavior of students, urging them to maintain this spirit as it is crucial for achieving excellence.

The meeting concluded with a unified commitment from parents and educators to focus on the holistic development of all children, ensuring a balanced approach that prepares future generations for success.
