NEWS– The Police in Katwe have arrested one suspect for allegedly possessing suspected stolen property and opium.
According to Patrick Onyango the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, the arrest occurred on 15th January 2025 at 3:30 am in Ggangu C Cell, Busabala ward, Masajja division.
A joint patrol team comprising police officers from Kibiri police station, Gangu UPDF Detach officers and local council authorities intercepted three suspects, including Sserugo Isaac and two others and upon searching the premises, the team recovered various items.
Among the recovered items are sharp Objects of which 10 are sharp knives, 2 pangas, 1 hummer and 4 pliers, 4 master keys 5 phones, 1 StarTimes decoder and 1 Gotv decoder, 5 women’s handbags, 1 suitcase and 12 sim cards.
Police recorded statements from relevant witnesses and found that the suspects could not account for the exhibits found in their possession.
Two suspects evaded arrest and the remaining suspect is detained at Katwe main police station for further interrogation to establish their motive as investigations are ongoing.
