Christians have been advised to avoid putting emphasis on their wealth like cattle, crops and money, as this leads them to forget God who created them. This encouragement was expressed by the Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe, while preaching in the confirmation service of 154 Christians at St. Paul’s Kasoroza Church of Uganda, Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese.
He stressed that many people in Uganda put their emphasis on their wealth and wealth becomes their God, which is wrong, urging them to put God first, who created them and gave them the gift of life. Bishop Onesimus urged Christians to always put emphasis on planting coffee, mentioning that coffee can help families to overcome poverty and educate their children.
The Archdeacon of Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry, Ven. Rev. Ronald Natuhwera, told the congregation that confirmation is a Christian weapon to fight Satan. He noted that the confirmands have got powers to fight Satan, calling upon their parents and guardians to keep them in faith.
Some of the confirmed Christians like Atusinguza Yvone and Nuwamanya Saviour promised to obey God’s commandments and continue to serve God for their betterment on earthly lives.
