RUKUNGIRI- Christians have been urged to invest in education if they want to give their children a brighter and successful future.
The remarks were made by the Rubabo Constituency hopeful Member of Parliament Hon. Mujuni Lawrence Mpitsi Pac Singa during the thanksgiving of the Abeitira clan towards raising funds for the construction of St Barnarbas Rubanga Catholic church in Buyanja Sub County, Rukungiri district.
Hon. Mpisi revealed to the congregation that the only weapon that they can give to their children is education, rather than family riches inherited from their parents that end up being misused since they had not toiled for them.

Mpitsi who contributed 1 million shillings towards the cause went on to urge Christians to be faithful and prioritize peaceful coexistence, try forgiveness during the Lenten season instead of promoting hate, rumors that aren’t developmental to communities.

Rev. Fr. Benjamin Tukamusha of St. Peter’s Catholic Buyanja challenged Christians to seek divine approval through prayer, fasting, and alms giving especially in these lent period, rather than human recognition.
Rev. Fr. Tukamushaba advised Christians to intensify prayer life, deepen their relationship with God and His people, as well as forgiveness and compassion.
He also stressed the importance of reflection, renewal, and reform in our interactions. He called for a re-examination of how church addresses domestic violence in the upcoming political season, and how to handle such differences in most homes
