NEWS– The Ministry of works and Transport has cautioned drivers to prioritize safety on the road ahead of the incoming festive season.

As the festive season approaches, the ministry under the slogan “Let us all arrive safely to our destinations this festive season”, urged all drivers to exercise extra caution on the roads.

According to the Ministry of works and Transport, each year, December registers the highest number of road crashes stressing that together they can change that trend this year.

To ensure everyone’s safety, the ministry tipped on ways it can be achieved as follows.

1. Stay Alert: Be mindful of pedestrians, cyclists, and other drivers, especially in busy shopping areas.

2. Adjust Speed: Reduce speed in adverse weather conditions or areas with high foot traffic.

3. Avoid Distractions: Focus on the road and avoid distractions like mobile phones.

4. Plan Ahead: Anticipate potential delays and give yourself extra time to reach your destination safely.

5. Rest When Needed: Fatigue can impair judgment and reaction timeā€”take regular breaks if you’re feeling tired.

Together, we can make this festive season a safe and enjoyable one for everyone. Drive responsibly, stay vigilant, and let’s all get to Christmas safely.
