Minister Jim Muhwezi hails Church for supporting gov’t development agenda

The Minister for Security who is also the Rujumbura County Member of Parliament Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has praised the church for its support to government projects, describing it as a good partner of development.

Jim Muhwezi noted that the Church has played a critical role in ensuring that government projects, particularly those related to development an example of Parish Development Model (PDM), are prioritized by the people.

Minister Jim Muhwezi made the revelation yesterday during the official installation of Rev. Joseph Tugume as a Parish Priest of St. Peter’s Omurusheshe Church of Uganda in Buhunga Archdeaconry North Kigezi Diocese.

Muhwezi who was represented by his Political Assistant Isaac Kaharuza as the chief guest during the function also exhorted the Christian faithful to emulate Jesus Christ, who he said engaged in various economic enterprises such as carpentry and fishing in addition to preaching the gospel.

Kaharuza also called for unity among members of the National Resistance Movement during this period of party elections since there is life after elections.

In his remarks, Rev. Joseph Tugume pledged to put more emphasis on spreading God’s gospel in addition to physical growth of the parish.
