The Christians of Kanyanga Church of Uganda (COU) in Kanyanga Parish, Kakyinga Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese, gathered for a transformative retreat aimed at enhancing family welfare.

Held at Kings Hotel in Rukungiri District, the event attracted over 100 participants, including wives, husbands, and widows from the community.

Retired Rev Canon Justus Kamuhangire, a former priest at Kanyanga Parish, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to share insights.

He emphasized the importance of love, patience, and trust in building strong family relationships. Canon Justus highlighted that producing children is a crucial aspect of family life and urged couples to plan together for their families’ futures.

During his address, Canon Justus also tackled the rising issue of divorce, noting that many couples marry for financial reasons rather than for love. He warned that when financial stability falters, relationships often suffer, leading to separation.

His message resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom appreciated the candid discussion.

She noted, “This retreat is about teaching us how to cater for our families and create harmony at home.”
