KANUNGU– The Police in Kanungu district are mounting investigations to discover the the cause of death of a 55 years old man who died after participating in eating competition.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Gad Sentenekora a resident of Kayembe village, Kabuga parish , Kihihi sub-county, Kanungu district.
It’s alleged that on Saturday 25th December 2021, the deceased participated in a competition of eating cakes and chapati together with 9 other participants organised by one Seveino at Kibimbiri trading centre where the winner was to win prizes.n
Elly Maate explained that during the process of eating, the deceased collapsed and was rushed to Kihihi health centre IV where he was pronounced dead at about 8:00pm.
The scene of crime was visited by OC CID Kihihi Police station and a team of detectives and a DEF inwas opened at Kabuga police post under file reference number 04/26/12/2021 as investigations continue.
